Recognition For New And Emerging Design Talent,
Retailers And Suppliers Select The Winners
(LAS VEGAS, NV June 1) --- The Design Center at JCK Las Vegas announced its top retailer choices at the fourth annual JCK Design Center Awards ceremony held yesterday. A brief reception, complete with celebratory champagne, began the event. Immediately following, a parade of JCK Design Center models informally showed the new and unique designs of some of the JCK Design Center exhibitors.
The recipient of the JCK Events Designer Retailer Award is DeScenza Diamonds, of Boston, MA. "As a family-owned jewelry business for over 94 years, we are truly honored to have been selected for the Design Center Award. When our grandfather, Al DeScenza first opened in 1915, he was driven by a philosophy that stressed high quality and extraordinary customer service. Therefore, it is with great pride that we will display the JCK 2009 Designer Retailer Award," said Sheryl Tracy, DeScenza Diamonds.
The Designer Retailers Awards recognized the Top 50 retailers based on the following three criteria: Educating the consumer on the quality and value of designer jewelry; Displaying and merchandising designer products for maximum salability and thirdly, are committed to fair business practices. Two retailers take home the top awards.
JCK Magazine presented the JCK Suppliers Choice Awards. This year's recipient was Worthmore Jewelers, in Atlanta and Decatur, GA.
"Innovation, creativity and fresh design are what keep consumers excited and passionate about jewelry," noted Yancy Weinrich, Industry Vice President, JCK Las Vegas. "The retailers who are recognized by the exhibitors in the Design Center are particularly attuned to and passionate about presenting, merchandising and selling designer jewelry. Therefore, being recognized by the exhibitors is quite an honor."

Retailers who were voted in the Top 10 by the Design Center exhibitors were: Don Muller Gallery; French Designer Jeweler; Lily & Co. Ladyfingers; Rewards.
Retailers who were voted into the Top 5 by the Design Center exhibitors were: Deep Blue Sea (DBS Jewelers); Samuel Gordon Jewelers; McCary's Jewelers; Lasker Jewelers.
The following retailers were honorable mentions as JCK Suppliers Choice as chosen by the industry's suppliers: Barmakian; M.J.
